Garmin and Magellan both have preview features on their websites, letting you see exactly what will display on your GPS screen for a given area. Garmin Mobile XT includes the street maps and a huge points of interest database, or in other words important points of the road within the city. You can just easily find any address on the fly and that is not all, Garmin Mobile XT has a built in voice command mode which tells you where you are, where you need to go, which turn to take and which turn not to take. Garmin uses Navteq as the map supplier. IMO, they are more accurate but in your case, we are dealing with roads that may not have existed prior to the last map update.

Navigon has been nice to its customers who buy their high-end GPS models, such as the 7200T by adding in free traffic updates using its FM Tuner. Now, they have announced that all of their units, entry level or high-end, will come with built-in free traffic updates. Navigation is currently being worked on and any help is appreciated in making this better. Navigation information is provided step by step, giving the next instruction and the distance to it.
